Course Description

Studio clay, Glazing, Kiln Firing and Tool Usage Included in the price. Studio Practice Time Included - you will receive a signup link when the class starts Class overview: This 6-week session will be all about the basics of wheel throwing. This class is great for first timers as well as students who have already taken a beginner class before. We will be starting from the very beginning to master the fundamental processes, including: wedging, centering, throwing cylinders (and other forms), trimming, and glazing. There's absolutely no pressure to have any experience or have it all figured out. Come to class with an open mind and we will work through your goals together to make some beautiful, unique pieces! 60-21 Myrtle Ave | Ridgewood, Queens Mondays 12-2:30pm 10/26-11/30 *Students can expect to finish around 5 pieces by the end of the course, with a maximum of 8 pieces to take home. Please remember that these classes are designed for learning and exploration—not high-volume production. We encourage a focus on skill-building and creative growth. Teacher Bio: Gu Jin is a New York based ceramic artist. In her work, she blends traditional Chinese forms with contemporary illustration, putting the past and present in conversation with one another. Cancelations must be before 10/20 to be eligible for a partial refund. ($25 Cancelation fee). No Cancelations or refunds once the class starts. All of our makeup sessions are non-instructed (except the last class - glazing which is instructed) . Unfortunately, it’s not possible for us to fit all makeup students into regularly scheduled instructor-led classes. While we offer makeup sessions as a courtesy for students who miss a class, we can’t guarantee a makeup. 1 Make-up per multi-week session.
