what we stand for

I’ve always wanted our studios to feel like places where creativity isn’t something you have to earn your way into.

Everything you see here is intentional. The color, the strange little details, the classes we choose to offer, the work on the shelves, the people we invite to teach.

I love that someone can walk in having never touched clay before and sit down next to someone who has been working with ceramics for years. I love a beautifully thrown pot and I love a completely ridiculous ceramic creature. I don’t see a hierarchy between making something technically impressive and making something strange, funny, personal or just because you wanted it to exist.

I wanted to make the kind of studio where people feel comfortable enough to experiment, make bad things, make great things, change their minds, get better, and figure out what kind of maker they want to be.

That’s why our studios look and feel the way they do.

They’re a reflection of what I believe creativity can feel like.
