About Us
We opened Ridgewood Ceramics Studio, Myrtle’s Clayhouse on November 1, 2025 with the simple goal of creating a space where people feel comfortable showing up as they are and making things.
It's important to us that the studio feels welcoming to everyone — whether you’ve never touched clay before or you’ve been working with it for years. What we love most is seeing our members and students settle in, take their time, and feel the clay in their hands.
Warmth and creativity sets the tone for the space, with an approach that emphasizes encouragement, shared learning, and making room for different ways of creating.
At the heart of the studio is Zofi Lipton, a longtime Ceramist and Artist who was born in Warsaw, Poland and moved to Maspeth when she was 15. She holds degrees from both Fashion Institute of Technology and Hunter College, both in NYC.
