Welcome to Myrtle’s Blog, your hub for everything happening in the ceramics world, updates from our Ridgewood studio, and inspiration from artists and makers in our community. We’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes stories, pottery tips, and upcoming events, so check back often to see what’s new.
We’re thrilled to introduce Myrtle’s Clayhouse, a new ceramics studio in the heart of Ridgewood, Queens, created by the same people behind Bushwick Ceramics, one of Brooklyn’s most beloved community ceramics spaces.
At Bushwick Ceramics, our mission has always been to make clay approachable: a place where beginners, hobbyists, and professional artists can share space, ideas, and inspiration. With Myrtle’s Clayhouse, we’re bringing that same philosophy across the Brooklyn–Queens border: creating a warm, inclusive studio where creativity and community come together.

A Space for Every CERAMiCIST
Whether you’re picking up clay for the first time or refining your wheel-throwing technique, Myrtle’s Clayhouse offers something for everyone:
Ceramics Classes: Learn hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing from experienced instructors.
Memberships: Members enjoy access to Myrtle's Clayhouse and all that it offers. Our 2-level ceramics studio is equipped with 11 Clayboss pottery wheels, a large Shimpo slab roller, a wall-mounted extruder, shared tools, five clay bodies, and over 25 dipping glazes.
Workshops (Coming Soon): One-day or weekend sessions perfect for date nights, birthdays, or team events.
Kids Classes (Coming Soon)
Seniors Discount Workshops and Memberships (Coming Soon)
Our studio is designed to feel both welcoming and functional, featuring brand-new pottery wheels, spacious tables, and all the necessary tools.
From Bushwick to Ridgewood
After years of nurturing a thriving ceramics community in Bushwick, we wanted to create something closer to home for Queens residents. Myrtle’s Clayhouse continues the legacy of Bushwick Ceramics by focusing on accessibility, quality instruction, and genuine creative connection.
You’ll see familiar faces, thoughtful design, and the same commitment to supporting artists of all levels.
More Than a Ceramics Studio
We see Myrtle’s Clayhouse as a creative hub, not just a ceramics studio. It’s a place to unplug, connect, and rediscover the joy of working with your hands. Whether you’re making your first mug or building a full dinner set, you’ll find inspiration — and a supportive community — here.
