Course Description

Studio clay, Glazing, Kiln Firing and Tool Usage Included in the price. Class overview: This class is great for first timers as well as students who are more advanced. We will start by mastering the fundamental processes, including: wedging, centering, throwing cylinders (and other forms), trimming, and glazing. There's absolutely no pressure to have any experience or have it all figured out. Come to class with an open mind and we will work through your goals together to make some beautiful, unique pieces! 60-21 Myrtle Ave | Ridgewood, Queens Mondays 6:30-9pm 8/24-10/5 | Skips 9/7 for Labor Day *Students can expect to finish around 5 pieces by the end of the course, with a maximum of 8 pieces to take home. Please remember that these classes are designed for learning and exploration—not high-volume production. We encourage a focus on skill-building and creative growth. About the teacher: Gu Jin is a New York based ceramic artist. In her work, she blends traditional Chinese forms with contemporary illustration, putting the past and present in conversation with one another. Cancelations must be before 8/19 to be eligible for a partial refund. ($25 Cancelation fee) All of our makeup sessions are non-instructed (except the last class - glazing which is instructed) . Unfortunately, it’s not possible for us to fit all makeup students into regularly scheduled instructor-led classes. While we offer makeup sessions as a courtesy for students who miss a class, we can’t guarantee a makeup. 1 Make-up per multi-week session.
