Course Description

All studio clay, tools and firings included in the price* This 6-week course is designed for beginners and all levels to build a strong foundation in handbuilding techniques such as coil, pinch, slab, surface design, and glazing. Each session begins with a 20–30 minute demonstration, followed by hands-on time where you’ll explore and develop your work with guidance as needed. Mistakes are welcomed as part of the learning process, and keeping a sketchbook for conceptual exploration is encouraged. By the end of the course, you’ll complete finished pieces—whether functional or sculptural—and gain the skills and confidence to continue your practice independently. 60-21 Myrtle Ave | Ridgewood, Queens 12/29-2/2 Mondays 2-4:30pm *Students can expect to complete approximately 3–4 finished pieces during the course. Please note that for any individual piece measuring 12 inches or more in any direction, additional firing fees will apply: $0.03 per cubic inch for bisque firing and $0.03 per cubic inch for glaze firing, per oversized piece. Classes are focused on learning and skill development—not production. We encourage students to explore techniques thoughtfully and enjoy the creative process. Cancelations must be before 10/31 to be eligible for a partial refund. ($25 cancelation fee) Teacher Bio: Camila Lim-Hing is a ceramic artist based in Brooklyn, New York.
